Soil Creation & Enhancement

The Land Clinic has in-house expertise in the creation and enhancement of soils. This knowledge and expertise has been employed in the creation and tailoring of soils from subsoils, green waste (our mobile plant licence provides for on-site composting) and biosolids. This can suit a variety of end uses from supporting broad-leaved woodland to a low fertility, species-rich native grassland.

We also offer advice on the protection, sustainable use and management of soils in the built environment, thus ensuring environmental, social and economic benefits now and for future generations.

There are large area's of derelict land in the UK. These often require rehabilitation before re-use. Importing topsoil in the quantities required for restoration is neither environmentally sustainable nor feasible and is costly. It is necessary to find a material with the required properties that can be used as a substitute. Sewage sludge is ideal for this purpose. The practice of recycling sewage sludge to land is recognised by the EU and the UK Government as often being the best practical environmental option.

The Land Clinic's has a full mobile waste management licence [No. EAWML/50420] issued by the Environment Agency covering all our Environmental Services.
